The Week 7 college football opening lines get analyzed by SBR contributor John Ryan and SBRtv host Peter Loshak. The Virginia Tech Hokies have underwhelmed so far this year, and they opened their Week 7 game as a touchdown road favorite over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, who are fresh off of a win over Florida St, expected to be a Top 5 team this year. The Oregon St Beavers began their annual mid-season improvement win a win over Arizona last week, and opened as a small home underdog to the BYU Cougars, not normally a great team on the road. The LSU Tigers and Alabama Crimson Tide, two awesome and impressive covering machines so far this season, both go into Week 7 with their usual suspiciously big favorite lines. This week, both are double-digit road favorites against SEC opponents. The California Golden Bears have taken a bit of action as a modest home underdog in a Thursday night showdown against the USC Trojans. The Temple Owls have shown a repeated ability to shut out and blow out teams over the past few years, which may give value to their 20+-point home favorite line over the Buffalo Bulls. The Texas Longhorns, fielding a young team this season, got blasted as a significant neutral-field underdog last week by Top 10 Oklahoma. The Oklahoma St Cowboys, however, despite also being ranked in the Top 10, may not have as easy a time with Texas, who is a again a large favorite, this time at home. What do you think?
